300 bio-plants to be set up in Sargodha division.

SARGODHA -- Punjab Energy Department has decided to set up 600 bio-plants in Sargodha and Gujarat divisions.

In this regard, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Commissioner Muhammad Ajmal Bhatti here on Tuesday.

Deputy Director of Energy, Osama Rauf, gave a detailed briefing to the Commissioner and the four Deputy Commissioners about this project. He said that residents of rural areas where Sui gas is not available can use this facility. Two to twelve and a half acres of land, six people and eight cattle are required for this plant.

He said that the total cost of this plant imported from China is around Rs 400,000 which would be borne by the Punjab government.

The Deputy Director further said this plant would be able to meet the needs of up to 20 years while the gas would be available for cooking from bio plant.

Aspirants could submit their applications in the concerned deputy commissioner office, he added.

Commissioner Muhammad Ajmal Bhatti said that this project is very beneficial for the residents of Sargodha division. He said this eco-friendly initiative would save wood and also provide compost.
