30,000 'organic poultry birds' being reared at local farms.

MULTAN -- Backyard poultry would not only provide protein rich meat and eggs but also generate additional income support for poor families.

Poultry Development Officer Dr Salma Naaz here on Monday said backyard poultry was a modern concept in Livestock Sector in which organic poultry rearing could be managed in both urban as well as rural areas.

She urged citizens to focus on backyard poultry as over 30,000 organic poultry birds were being reared at local government poultry farms. These birds would be provided to citizens on subsidized rates.
