25,203 arrested in a year in gutka, narcotics cases, say police.

KARACHI -- As many as 25,203 persons were arrested and a total of 359,113 kilograms of illegal narcotics items were seized during police action against narcotics in a year from Sept 12, 2018 to Sept 12, 2019, a police spokesperson said on Friday.

During the same one-year period, a total of 20,856 cases were registered against elements involved in sale of gutka, mawa, mainpuri, hashish, heroin, ice, opium and liquor, their facilitators and patronisers, according to a press statement.
