2 police patrolling parties come under gunfire in Rawalpindi.

Rawalpindi -- The patrolling parties of police stations Banni and Airport came under heavy gunfire allegedly by the dacoits, informed sources on Tuesday.

Police also retaliated and managed to arrest a dacoit in injured condition. Another dacoit also suffered bullet injuries when his accomplice opened firing on police party to obtain his arrest, they said.

According to sources, a police party of PS Banni was on routine patrol in the area when three suspected dacoits riding on a motorcycle opened firing on cops. The police retaliated and shot at and injured a suspect Asad. The other two accomplices of the suspect managed to escape form the scene, they said adding that police held Asad and moved him to hospital for medical treatment. A police spokesman said the investigators of PS Banni seized a stolen motorcycle from possession of detained criminal.
