2 citizens shot at and injured in separate dacoity bids in Islamabad.

ISLAMABAD -- Armed gangs of dacoits have shot and injured two citizens during dacoity bids in different localities of the capital, informed sources here on Wednesday.

Police along with locals moved the injured to hospitals. Likewise, three other citizens were deprived of cash and mobile phones by the dacoits. Auto-theft gangs took away a car and three motorcycles from Islamabad, they said.

According to sources, a citizen named Asad was standing outside a house in E-11/4 when two dacoits attempted to snatch his mobile phone. They said one of the dacoits fired at him upon showing resistance. After committing crime, the two dacoits managed to escape from the scene. Police arrived on the crime scene and shifted the injured to hospital for medical treatment. A case has been registered against unknown dacoits with Golra Police Station while further investigation was underway.

Abdul Rehman of Jhangi Syedan told Shamas Colony that his son was travelling on IJP Road when two dacoits riding on a motorcycle intercepted him on gunpoint. He said the dacoits snatched Rs1 million from him and shot him injured over showing resistance. Police registered case and started searching the fleeing dacoits.

Similarly, a gang of dacoits also deprived three other citizens of cash and mobile phones on gunpoint in the precincts of police stations Sabzi Mandi and Ramna.

Auto theft gangs pilfered a car and three motorcycles from the jurisdictions of Industrial Area, Aabpara, Sabzi Mandi and Shalimar.

On the other hand, police have arrested 11 criminals including two proclaimed offenders wanted to police in crime of heinous nature, a police spokesman said.
