12 sacrificial animal sale points to be operational by 25th.

LAHORE -- The divisional administration has directed the authorities concerned to ensure making 12 sacrificial animals' sale points fully operational by June 25 - two weeks before the Eidul Azha that is likely to be on July 10.

The venues for the points would be the same as were in the last year, according to a directive for the administration that asked them to start planning to set up sacrificial animals' sale points in the provincial capital.

Commissioner retired Captain Muhammad Usman asked the officers concerned to go for making the same points of the last year operational at the same venues.

Presiding over a meeting here on Monday, he said, 'The joint teams of veterinary doctors and metropolitan corporation officials should also be constituted and deputed at the city's entry points in a bid to detect the animals suffering from the lumpy skin disease. The diseased animals must be taken to the quarantine centres to be established there'.

Like the last year, the Wagah zone (Shalimar tehsil) will have one sale point at Lakhudair (Ring Road), followed by Nishtar zone (Model Town tehsil) having three points at the LDA City Housing Scheme, Sidhar village/Kahna Kacha and Defence Road. Gulberg zone will have two sale points at N-Block, DHA Phase 9 Prism and Pine Avenue Road. There will be one point each in Ravi and Data Ganj Bakhsh zones at Saggian and Hazrat Usman Ghani Road. Allama Iqbal Town zone will have three points at the NFC Society, Manga and Raiwind and one point will be set up at Shahpur Kanjran - Punjab's largest cattle market. Likewise Shalimar, Aziz Bhatti and Samanabad zones will also have separate sale points.
