11 more Covid-19 patients die.

PESHAWAR -- The death toll from coronavirus in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reached 890 on Friday as 11 more residents died of the virus.

Of the new fatalities, five were reported in Peshawar district, two in Bajaur and one each in Swat, Mardan, Buner and Kohat.

Also in the day, the first minor Covid-19 patient admitted to the isolation ward of the Khyber Teaching Hospital, Peshawar, was taken away by the family.

The doctors claimed that the eight-month-old, who was an Afghan refugee from the Peshawar Board area, 'left against medical advice'.They demanded that the child and his family members, especially parents, be traced, tested for Covid-19 and isolated to prevent the transmission of the virus.

According to a health department report, the province recorded 640 new cases, which took its overall tally of confirmed patients to 24,943.

Also, 355 patients recovered from the virus. The number of such recoveries reached 11,804 in the province.

After five new deaths, Peshawar's fatality number surged to 431. The district registered 182 new patients, which increased its tally to 8,605.

Peshawar leads the Covid-19 deaths and cases in the province followed by Swat district, where death toll reached 89 after another resident was killed by the virus. Swat also found 44 new cases, which took its tally to 1,028.

Two new deaths increased Bajaur district's tally to 29. The district also detected three new patients, so the number of such cases reached 482.Abbottabad recorded 35 new cases, which took the overall tally to 1,067. The district has so far seen 38 deaths from the infection.

The coronavirus cases in Haripur district totalled 478 after 26 more residents were diagnosed with the virus. The district has also reported seven deaths from the infection.
