Yuki Takemoto, the UNAIDS Country Director to Pakistan received an Award at the 'Global Ambassador Awards' ceremony. The award was conferred for her outstanding contribution toward building strong partnerships and awareness in Pakistan, on behalf of the people of Pakistan. About Yuki Takemoto: Takemoto is a seasoned and active public policy expert. She has a track record of devising and executing evidence-based policies and programs, creating custom advocacy campaigns, and forging coalitions with a variety of stakeholders for healthy and sustainable communities. She holds twenty-five years of experience in development cooperation and leading policy. Moreover, she has remained part of various UN interagency coordination mechanisms in Asia-Pacific, Latin America, and Europe. Before becoming the UNAIDS Country Director for Pakistan and Afghanistan, she worked for the Japanese Foreign Service and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria. In addition, Takemoto has led concerted efforts with the federal and provincial government and international and national stakeholders to devise effective strategic measures to combat HIV and the inequalities that drive epidemics in Pakistan.
