Work on power project to resume next week.

LOWER DIR -- Work on the 40.8 megawatts Koto hydropower project would resume on Monday next as all necessary arrangements have been finalised in this regard.

It was stated by assistant director of the project, Muqeemud Din, while briefing journalists here the other day. He said that work on the project was stopped in March due to Covid-19 pandemic.

Mr Muqeem said that majority of the Chinese engineers and technical staff left for their country to join celebrations of new year and spring festival in December and January but due to the pandemic and lockdown they were stranded there and could not return within due time.

He said that 83 per cent of construction work on the project was completed. Prime Minister Imran Khan along with then chief minister Pervez Khattak had inaugurated the project on Panjkora River on July 4, 2015.
