West Indian batter Lendl Simmons retires from international cricket.

SAINT JOHN'S -- Right-handed West Indian batter Lendl Simmons has announced to hang his boots from international cricket with immediate effect.

Simmons, who represented the West Indies in 144 matches across all the formats, has decided to draw curtains on his prolonged career, that embarked in 2006 against Pakistan.

In his decorated career, the right-handed explosive batter scored 3736 runs including two centuries in ODI cricket.

Simmons' highest score of 122, came against Bangladesh in Mirpur in 2011. The 37-year-old, however, was exclusively seen in T20Is in recent times.
