Webinar: China-Pakistan Agricultural Cooperation and Prospects.

Awebinar was conducted on the "Agricultural Cooperation and Prospects between China and Pakistan" organized by the China Economic Net, Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies, and The Express Tribune under the guidance of the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan and Pakistan Embassy in china, on 19th November 2020. The panel of Chinese and Pakistani experts brought to light the various aspects of cooperation in the agricultural sector and its economic benefits for both the states. Miss Farhat Asif, Founder and President of the Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies (IPDS), was the moderator of the webinar.

The distinguished panel of speakers comprised: Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong, Pakistani Ambassador to China Moin ul Haque, Secretary of Pakistani Board of Investment Fareena Mazhar, Director of the Center for Molecular Biology of Crops at China Academy of Agricultural Sciences Zhang Rui and Zhai Xueling, the Director of Market and Trade Research Office, Research Center for Rural Economy under Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China and other experts.

Ms. Farhat Asif, in her introductory speech, explained and enlightened about the significance of the cooperation between Pakistan and China in the sector of agriculture which is the pivotal backbone of Pakistan's economy. Ms. Farhat Asif delivered welcome remarks on the Webinar and expressed her gratitude to the participants. She introduced guest speakers including Nong Rong, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Moin ul Haque, Pakistani Ambassador to China, and so on while also providing an insight to the institute of peace and diplomatic studies as an independent non-governmental organization aiming to provide strength to Pakistan's effective role in peace and intellect.

Nong Rong, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan made an opening speech at the webinar and said that China is willing to share experience in agricultural, rural, and industrial development with Pakistan which in return would safeguard regional food security and enhance industrialization in Pakistan. he admired the meeting for holding great significance for focusing on the seed industry, agricultural product processing, and agricultural investment.
