Wanted robber killed in Kohat encounter.

KOHAT/KARAK -- Police killed the alleged ring-leader of a robbers' gang, who had gunned down a police head constable here the other day, during an operation in the mountains of Muhammadzai area in the wee hours of Wednesday.

District police officer Mansoor Aman led the operation.

After getting a tip-off about the presence of the gang the police surrounded the whole area.

However, the outlaws started firing at the police. The police retaliated the attack and eliminated an outlaw named Yousuf. He was wanted by the cantonment, city and counter-terrorism police in murders, highway robberies, extortion and attacks on police Earlier, the funeral prayers of the martyred policeman, Amjidullah, were held at the Fareed Hussain police lines.
