Varsity teachers threaten to boycott online classes.

PESHAWAR -- Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Associations (FAPUASA), a representative body of public sector universities faculty, has demanded increase in salaries and other allowances of its members till Jun 30 failing which it would start boycott of online classes.

According to a statement issued here on Wednesday, the decision to boycott the online classes was made in a video conference of executive council of FAPUASA.

The representatives of provincial chapters and academic staff associations from various universities of the country shared their views on the occasion.

FAPUASA leaders vowed to oppose Public Sector Universities (Amendment) Act, 2020 of Punjab government. They said that the Act was politically influenced.

They alleged that policies of Higher Education Commission damaged higher education sector and discourage research culture in the country.
