UNSC Committees.

Global leaders ignore the fact that terrorism often stems from the actions of the perpetrators of violence, mostly out of a state's oppression. This ignorance explains why India gets the chair of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) committees. Though the Indian leadership is jubilant over chairing the UN bodies and thinks that their wins are a diplomatic setback for Pakistan, the reality is that these committees are not the ones that India wanted. In any case, Delhi replacing Indonesia in the UNSC mandated a handover of committees, and the face three were granted is only incidental as a result.

For instance, the Libya Sanctions Committee has been dysfunctional for some time now. Even if the permanent members reach a consensus over the working of this body, India cannot target Pakistan's interests. Still, this does not mean that India cannot create hindrances for Pakistan. India, under the cover of the war on terror, has successfully painted itself as one of the major victims of terrorism. Unfortunately, the majority of world powers believe in this falsehood. It is this victim card that India will play against Pakistan while being on the counter-terrorism committee...
