Turkish Assistance Boosts Health Facilities in Pakistan.

KARACHI -- The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) has established a state-of-the-art operating room at the National Child Health Institute, the largest children's hospital in Sindh Province, Pakistan. The modern facility was inaugurated in a ceremony attended by Dr. Saad Khalid Niaz, the Minister of Health for the Sindh Government, and Dr. Mehmet Pacaci, the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Pakistan.

During the opening program, Minister of Health Dr. Niaz expressed his gratitude, highlighting that Turkey was the first country to extend support to Pakistan during times of need. He thanked TIKA for providing this advanced operating room for the benefit of Pakistani children.

Ambassador Dr. Mehmet Pacaci underscored the strong relationship between Turkey and Pakistan, emphasizing the strengthening ties through institutions like TIKA and Yunus Emre Institute.

TIKA Karachi Program Coordinator, Halil Ibrahim Basaran, revealed that they have executed over 80 health projects across Pakistan and, specifically, seven important projects within the health sector in Sindh province between 2019 and 2023. These initiatives demonstrate Turkey's ongoing commitment to supporting the development of Pakistan, its friendly and brotherly neighbor, particularly in the field of healthcare.
