Tribunals Dismiss Challenges to Murtaza Wahab's Nomination Approval for Local Government By: -Elections.

KARACHI -- On Thursday, election tribunals rejected petitions challenging the approval of Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab's nomination papers for the upcoming local government by-elections, according to media reports.

In particular, the Election Tribunal Malir dismissed objections against the approval of Wahab's nomination papers for UC-8 Ibrahim Haidari. Four candidates from PTI and two from Jamaat-e-Islami had raised objections against the nomination paper's approval by the returning officer for UC-8 Ibrahim Haidari.

Similarly, the election tribunal for the West district also rejected petitions filed by candidates from JI and PTI against the approval of Murtaza Wahab's nomination papers for Keamari district.

Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, along with Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad, submitted their nomination papers for the by-election on local government seats on October 7. The by-election is scheduled to take place on November 5, with results to be announced on November 8.
