Torrent gallops to Generation Cup glory at KRC.

KARACHI -- Fancied three-year-old colt Torrent annexed the Generation Cup while posting a fluent four-length victory over Gift of Gold during the winter Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi racecourse on Sunday.

With hat-trick already under his belt including the Nursery Cup last month, Torrent stretched his winning run to live up to his reputation.

Flatterer, who was co-favourite with eventual champion, had to be content with third place as Balochistan Queen completed the frame among five starters.

Torrent was piloted home by 2020 champion rider Safdar Hussain who also did owner Rana Jawad Sarwar and trainer Irfan proud.

Mare Glittery Eyes presented Syed Sibghatullah Shah Pir Pagara and trainer Mohyuddin with a winner In the next race with prominent rider Zaki Zakir in the saddle.

Glittery Eyaz romped home by four-and-a-half lengths over co-favourite Big Faith.

At the outset, three favourites - Public Fancy, Awaz-e-Sehar and Piyara Faisal - obliged all and sundry while Recovery upset the applecart in the third race.
