Ton-up Azhar, Umar take strong lead for Central Punjab against Northern.

KARACHI -- Centurions Azhar Ali and Umar Akmal left a strong impression on Northern as Central (CP) Punjab took a strong 212-run lead over opponents on Day 2 of the final of Quaid-e-Azam Trophy at National Stadium Karachi.

Azhar, continuing his form from 118 runs knock against Sri Lanka in the second Test at the same turf, scored 119 runs after CP resumed Day 2 at 87-1. He along with Salman Butt (74) added 95 runs together to his team's total after Ahmed Shahzad's departure for just 30 runs.

Young Musa Khan bagged well-set Butt before Lunch to give a much-needed breakthrough to Northern. However, Babar Azam's arrival once again put them under pressure.
