Three injured in gas explosion in restaurant.

ISLAMABAD -- Three people sustained burn injuries in a gas explosion in a restaurant in F-10 Markaz on Wednesday, police and fire department said.

Two of the injured were employees of the restaurant while the other was a passerby.

The incident took place at around 1:15pm due to gas explosion in the kitchen, set up in the basement of a multi-storey building. The kitchen, dining halls and office were set up at different floors of the building.

The incident took place when cooks were busy preparing meal in the kitchen, the restaurant officials said, adding that all of a sudden an explosion occurred and fire erupted. Windows of the buildings were also shattered.
