Thari prodigy gets tumultuous welcome.

MITHI -- Almost entire townspeople from all strata of society poured onto streets and gathered at the school and residence of their teenage hero - who had made them proud by setting a new world record of arranging periodic table in record time of one minute and 58 seconds - to accord him a warm welcome on his return to his hometown on Friday.

The 14-year-old ninth grader, Rohan Kumar Khatwani, achieved the feat at Islamabad Science Festival held at Pakistan National Council of Arts on Feb 13, breaking previous record of two minutes and 42 seconds by Natalia Najam, a student from Lahore.

Khatwani said that he was so overjoyed to return to his hometown with the accolades for which he had worked tirelessly. 'I am thankful to all those especially my teachers, who encouraged me throughout my efforts and made it possible for me to make this unique world record,' he recalled and vowed to carry on his studies with more zeal and enthusiasm in future.

Sahir, the boy's teacher, said that his student had always passed with flying colours but this time he had done a marvellous job by creating the 'world record'.
