Textbooks dumping.

A FEW days ago, the media was abuzz with reports about the dumping of thousands of textbooks in a Narowal school. School authorities did not give students these textbooks which were provided free by the Punjab government for students from class VI to X. This is not an isolated case. There are frequent reports of textbooks not being given to students and dumped later or sold to be recycled.

The Punjab government provides hundreds of thousands of free textbooks every year to students of government schools in different districts. These books are in English. Most government school senior teachers...
