Teachers of private schools demand withheld salary.

KHAR -- Teachers of private schools in Bajaur tribal district on Thursday held a protest demonstration against suspension of their salaries for the last three months and warned to launch a protest campaign if their salaries were not paid before Eid.

Scores of teachers of private educational institutions from parts of the district attended the rally organised by All Bajaur Private Schools Teachers Association outside the Bajaur Press Club.

The participants led by the association's president Mohammad Faheem also chanted slogans against owners of the private schools for not paying them salaries for the last three months.

They said that all private educational institutions in the region had been closed since March 18 due to Covid-19 pandemic.

They said it was the responsibility of the school owners to pay their salaries.

They criticised the government for not including them in the emergency cash assistance scheme.
