Teacher remanded for torturing student.

KARACHI -- The Sindh High Court on Thursday suspended a notification of the Sindh law department about de-notifying six law officers and issued notices to respondents for Nov 12.

A two-judge bench headed by Justice Mohammad Shafi Siddiqui issued notices to the advocate general of Sindh as well as to the respondents and said that in the meantime, the operation of the impugned notification will remain suspended.

The additional advocate general of Sindh Ghulam Mustafa Mahesar and assistant advocate general Ghulam Abbas Sangi challenged the notification issued on Oct 24 to de-notify them and four other additional and assistant advocates general.

The bench in its order said lawyers for the petitioners argued that this was a violation of the Sindh Government Rules of Business since it was the authority of the governor to issue such notification.
