A Talk 'Peaceful Cohabitation in Rainbow Islands: A Case Study of Mauritius'.

Islamabad: Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies (IPDS) in collaboration with organised a talk on "Peaceful Cohabitation in Rainbow Islands: A Case Study of Mauritius" on July 10th, 2019 at COMSATS Headquarter Islamabad. H.E Mr. Soobadar Rashidally, High Commissioner of Mauritius in Pakistan graced the event as Chief Guest. Dr. Junaid Zaidi, Executive Director, COMSATS welcomed H.E Mr. Soobadar Rashidally to the lecture and shared vision and mission of COMSATS. Ms. Farhat Asif, President, Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies said that IPD stresses to connect diverse groups including diplomats, experts, academicians, nongovernment organizations from across the globe working in conflict zones with the sole purpose of creating sustainable peace in countries facing security threats.

She added 'IPD arranges seminars, conferences, workshops and event in collaboration with Missions, Governmental Departments and organization for the promotion of peace, tolerance and coexistence. In the talk, H.E Mr. Soobadar Rashidally said Mauritius being an isolated island country in the middle of the Indian Ocean but sets an example for the world on how a population of 1.2 million that is a cocktail of races coexists peacefully with zero intolerance. With having several important benchmarks in the economy, democracy and political and cultural diversity as a leader in Africa, Mauritius has achieved a lot with its unity and diversity apart from diversity in unity.
