A Talk 'Nelson Mandela's Glorious Legacy: Lessons for Today and Tomorrow'.

Islamabad: Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies (IPDS) in collaboration with Commission on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in the South (COMSAT) organised a celebratory seminar in continuation of UN Nelson Mandela International Day entitled "Nelson Mandela's Glorious Legacy: Lessons for Today and Tomorrow" on July 25th, 2019 at COMSATS Headquarter Islamabad. H.E Christo Janse Van Noordwyk, Counsellor: Political and Acting High Commissioner, South African High Commission to Pakistan graced the event as Chief Guest. Ambassador (r) Fouzia Nasreen Advisor Sustainable Development Goals, COMSATS welcomed H.E Christo Janse Van Noordwyk to the talk and shared mission of COMSATS and highlighted the future prospect of the commission.

Ms. Farhat Asif, President, Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies made audience known to the importance of Nelson Mandela International Day. She said added 'IPD arranges seminars, conferences, workshops and event in collaboration with Missions, Governmental Departments and organization for the promotion of peace, tolerance coexistence in global world. In the talk, H.E Christo Janse Van Noor dwyk said International Mandela Day and Mandela Month (July) reminds all citizens about the power of selflessness, human service, giving and the spirit of Ubuntu, to be commemorated also through social activism.

Nelson Mandela promoted the ethos of Ubuntu to advancing our collective unity, irrespective of race, creed and orientation, as South Africans and as the global community throughout his life.
