Talash elders vow to resist shifting of Nadra office.

LOWER DIR -- Elders and political activists belonging to Talash area here on Tuesday demanded the federal government and high-ups of the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) to keep its branch in Talash and vowed to resist its shifting to Timergara.

They said the shifting of the branch had already been ordered by the Nadra authorities.

The elders made the demand during a protest meeting held at a local hotel in Talash.

Addressing the meeting and subsequent protest demonstration, Talash Dushkhel Qaumi Jirga president Mohammad Ibrahim Khan, Anjuman-i-Tajiran Talash president Dr Noor Mohammad, ANP tehsil president Mohammad Ayub, PPP tehsil president Barkat Khan, PTI tehsil president Bostan Khan, JUI-F's Mufti Bakht Sardar, Malik Haji Khalil, Haji Mohammad Ali and others said they would not allow the shifting of the Nadra centre from the area.

They said the Noorakhel, Shahikhel, Dushkhel and Bandagai union councils of Talash valley had a total population of about 200,000.

They said the residents would have to travel at least 20 kilometres to get and renew their CNICs if the centre was taken to Timergara.
