_: Sara Owens, a member of parliament from the Labour Party in the UK, recently used her platform to address concerns about the situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). While an emotional speech might not provide tangible utility for the cause, it does go to show that international understanding of the Kashmir conflict is evolving, however gradually. Pakistan's effort to situate the discussion on Kashmir on a global platform is paying off. If we maintain this momentum, the likelihood of multilateral action towards the liberation of Kashmir is bound to increase and so, we must persevere.

The MP's speech in Westminster Hall focused on how living in a lockdown, as frustrating as it is for the general public, is quite ordinary for the Kashmiris. In Kashmir, restriction of movement isn't much about safety rather than control-a sentiment Pakistan has been trying to...
