Suspected robbers arrested; five held for violating SOPs.

TAXILA -- Police on Saturday arrested two suspected robbers besides detaining five people for violating Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Subdivisional Police Officer Taxila circle DSP Tahir Kazmi told newsmen that Wah Saddar police arrested the two robbers allegedly involved in snatching and robbery cases and recovered Rs300,000 from them. He identified the suspects as Mohammad Saqib and Mohammad Khan who worked at a CNG station on GT Road at daytime and snatched cash, cell phones and other valuables from rickshaw drivers, bikers and people visiting markets in Taxila and Wah.

He said after committing robberies, the suspects used to hide in their living room at the CNG station. The SDPO also said the police arrested five people for the violation of the Covid-19 SOPs. He said the operation against the violators would continue.

The SDPO said the Wah Cantonment police arrested a young man for displaying arms on social media and recovered arms and ammunition from his possession. He said Syed Hassam Haider, a resident of Gulistan Colony, used to upload his videos...
