Suspect arrested for killing sister-in-law.

TAXILA -- Attock police on Sunday arrested a man and sent him behind bars for allegedly killing his sister-in-law in Bolniwal village in the limits of Attock Saddar police station.

In another incident, a taxi driver was found murdered in Mohra Chowk area in the jurisdiction of Wah Cantonment police station.

Talking to newsmen on Sunday, District Police Officer (DPO) Umar Salamat said Rehmat Khan shot and killed his sister-in-law with his 30-bore pistol for not being able to conceive despite being married to his brother was around five years.

After registering a murder case, police launched a hunt for the suspect and successfully raided his hideout and arrested him. Police also recovered the weapon used in the woman's murder.

The DPO said zero tolerance would be shown to incidents of violence, harassment and abuse of women.

Meanwhile, a 55-year-old man was found dead near a graveyard in Mohra chowk area, police said on Sunday. Mumtaz Akhtar, a taxi driver, had picked up a ride from Pirwadhai area in Rawalpindi late on Saturday night.

The passengers asked Akhtar to take him to Mohra Chowk, a sparsely-populated locality, where they tried to overpower the taxi driver.

When Akhtar resisted, the vehicle lifters shot him multiple times, killing him on the spot.

They made away with the driver's cash, mobile phone and vehicle.
