Students showcase KP's culture.

PESHAWAR -- The students of various universities presented the culture of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa through their artworks at a painting competition.

The inter-university painting competition with the theme of 'Cultural journey of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa' was organised at Nishtar Hall by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority (KPCTA), according to a statement issued here on Wednesday.

The students presented the culture of the province through calligraphy and painting at the competition. It was also meant to provide a platform to young artists to display their works and gain encouragement and recognition.

More than 95 art pieces of three different categories including painting, calligraphy and craft and sculptures by the students of five universities were displayed at the exhibition.

The students of City University, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University, Sarhad University, Cecos University and University of Peshawar took part in the competition.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Tourism, Culture and Archaeology Secretary Mohammad Tahir Orakzai. He was accompanied by KPCTA Director General Bakhtiar Khan, Member of the Board of Directors of Tourism Authority Shamila Tabassum, Manager Events Haseena Shaukat and other officials.
