Student Design Competition Takes Place

The “Havryn Goyol” student fashion design competition took place at the Central Cultural Palace on May 23.

“Havryn Goyol” is organized annually by the Mongolian Designers Association with the purpose of promoting competitiveness among new and young designers, supporting them, and identifying the season’s fashion trend. This year, it was the 18th competition of its type.

Over 150 students majoring in art or design at universities and institutes in Mongolia presented their creations in several categories such as haute couture, avant-garde or experimental fashion, and traditional or ethnic wear categories. The students also competed in the interior, exterior, computer animation, architecture, graphic design, and decoration categories.

In addition, a student research conference took place for the first time as part of “Havryn Goyol” this year.

O.Taivan, who received the Best Speech award from the conference, stated, “This is the third year I am participating in this competition. This year, I competed with my soft book for babies in the graphic design category and presented a speech on my work.”

O.Taivan also told us that he had conducted a survey among 140 parents in order to create his book.
