Stray dogs bite 25 people in Shangla.

SHANGLA -- At least 25 people, including women and children, were bitten by stray dogs in various areas of Shangla during last two days.

Doctors in local hospitals told this correspondent that dogs had injured over 25 people who were brought to the healthcare facilities for treatment during last 48 hours.

They said dog bite cases had been on the rise and over 50 such patients were recorded during last one week by the district headquarters hospital, Alpuri.

Dr Zahid Khan at THQ hospital, Bisham, said nine people bitten by dogs were brought to the hospital on Saturday.

He said the patients had been brought with injuries on their faces, legs, and hands. He said anti-rabies vaccine was not available because of its shortage at the district health officer's office.

Dr Sharifullah Saqib, spokesperson for the DHQ hospital, told this correspondent that four to five people bitten by dogs were brought daily from various areas of the district to the hospital.
