Steps being taken to ensure safety from coronavirus: Zafar Mirza.

ISLAMABAD -- Special Assistant to PM on National Health Services Dr. Zafar Mirza says steps are being taken on war footings under the directive of the Prime Minister to ensure safety from Coronavirus.

Chairing a meeting of the Emergency Core Committee on Coronavirus in Islamabad on Friday, he said the committee and the Emergency Operation Cell, established at the Ministry of Health, have been monitoring the situation regarding the disease.

The Special Assistant said the federation and the provinces are alert to deal with Coronavirus. He said he has requested all the provinces to allocate separate wards in hospitals for possible Coronavirus cases.

He said Health Establishment is ensuring trained practical screening system at airports.

Earlier, World Health Organization had declared a global emergency over the new coronavirus, as China reported Friday the death toll had climbed to 213 with nearly 10,000 infections.
