Stepmother, uncle held over murder of minor in Dir.

LOWER DIR -- Police claimed here on Wednesday to have solved the blind murder case of a five-year-old child, Ayan Khan, and arrested his stepmother and her brother-in-law.

Ayan was found dead on February 22 at a hill in the limits of Lal Qila police station. District Police Officer Tariq Iqbal said in a statement that they solved the blind murder case and arrested his stepmother and her brother-in-law Bakht Zada of Zaimdara.

He said that the arrested persons confessed to their crime and said the child was killed with the help of a sickle. Police also recovered the sickle used in the crime.

Meanwhile, a man was killed and two others were injured when a Suzuki pickup and a motorcycle collided in Shamshi Khan Talash.

Rescue 1122 team shifted Iftikhar Wali, Taj Wali and Zahir Khan to district headquarters hospital in Timergara after the accident where Iftikhar succumbed to his injuries. Police arrested the Suzuki driver.
