SPI falls slightly.

ISLAMABAD -- The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) recorded a decrease of 0.22 per cent for the week ending on January 14 over the last week, with food prices showing signs of decline.

The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) on Friday said prices of seven items registered a decline during the month including eggs which witnessed a drop of 15.62pc. Prices of tomatoes fell by 11.18pc, potatoes by 4.99pc, onions by 4.06pc and chicken by 2.79pc. Among non-food items, prices of electricity and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) dropped.
