Speaker's fifth strike to reschedule PA session.

LAHORE -- The session of the Punjab Assembly has been rescheduled by Speaker Sibtain Khan. The speaker has called a house session on Nov 14 (Monday), using his power under Rule 25(b) of the Rules of Procedure, even though it was originally scheduled to take place on Nov 21.

Since his election to the post on July 29, Mr Khan has rescheduled house meetings five times.

On Sept 19, instead of the previously scheduled Sept 28, the sitting was summoned for the first time. The urgency behind the decision was to move a resolution condemning a press conference by the federal government against Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chairman Imran Khan.

The second time, the session was moved from Oct 26 to Oct 22 in order to denounce the disqualification of Imran Khan by the Election Commission of Pakistan; the third time, the session...
