Solid waste management plant made functional.

ABBOTTABAD -- The first solid waste management plant in Hazara division has been made functional here at the Salhad dumping site.

The Rs15 million facility has the capacity to dispose of the waste generated by 1,200 houses of the Model Neighbourhood Council Ward 11, Kunj.

The inauguration ceremony was held here on Wednesday with Oxfam Pakistan project manager Farah Munawar, Rashida Dohad of the Umar Asghar Foundation, Water and Sanitation Services Company chief executive officer Engineer Rehan Yusuf, chairman of the WASSC Board of Directors retired Major Zulfiqar Ahmed, local body members and relevant officials in attendance.

Ms Manwar said steps would be taken to improve the performance of the waste management plant.
