Social sector experts call for state intervention for social uplift in rural Sindh.

JAMSHORO -- Quality education alone is capable of curing all social ailments. Academic institutions in league with social sector organizations can bring about desired transformation in society. It is deplorable to see vast majority of Pakistan's population living under poverty line even in the current times of miraculously unbelievable technological development. Social transformation could be achieved only through collective concerted efforts of the enlightened sections of society; comprising academia, intelligentsia, intellectuals, social activists, journalists, researchers and civil society leaders. The above views were advanced by VC-SU Fateh Mohammad Burfat in his presidential speech at evaluative and endorsement workshop on a research report 'Baseline Study on Village Profile of Sindh' which was carried out by SU Abida Taherani Sindh Development Studies Centre as solicited by Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) International at ATSDSC premises.
