Six test positive for Covid-19 in Dalbandin.

CHAGAI -- Local authorities have decided to enforce more restrictions in a neighbourhood of Dalbandin to contain the spread of coronavirus as six members of the Hindu community tested positive for coronavirus.

Four suspicious deaths in the same area had alerted the health department to start tests of bereaved families and their relatives.

Medical Superintendent of Prince Fahad Hospital in Dalbandin Dr Sanaullah Baloch said 10 people tested negative and the results of three tests were awaited, while samples of 19 people had initially been taken in Hindu Mohalla.

He said more tests would be conducted in the area after finding out the contacts of people affected by Covid-19.

Deputy Commissioner of Chagai Agha Sher Zaman told Dawn that positive patients had been quarantined in the community hall of Hindu Mohalla, besides their homes had been sealed to avoid spread of the virus.

He said the only temple in Hindu Mohalla had also been sealed where all kinds of worship would be banned till further orders.

Meanwhile, five people lost their lives and several others suffered critical injuries in different incidents, particularly road accidents, since the first day of Eidul Fitr in Chagai and its surrounding areas.
