SIUT pays tribute to staffers battling Covid-19.

KARACHI -- At a special meeting held at the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) on Friday, speakers paid tributes to the institute`s staf fers looking after Covid-19 patients despite risks to their own safety.

The meeting was held in memory of staf f nurse Ambreen Khalid who had contracted coronavirus while performing her duty at the SIUT`s Covid-19 ward.

She passed away last Sunday.

Speaking at the event, SIUT director Prof Adib Rizvi expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved f amily.

`The dedication and devotion Ambreen had demonstrated towards her job was exemplary,` he said, while describing the late nurse as an enthusiastic worker.

Prof Rizvi lauded the services of SIUT workers in the ongoing public health crisis and said though they had concerns about Covid-19, like other health professionals, the team at the institute was combating the pandemic emergency with great zeal and dedication.He said the SIUT immediately responded to the situation when Covid-19 broke out in the country by setting up a team in mid-March focussing on the illness and taking the initiative of providing...
