Sit-in against lawyer's conviction ends.

LAHORE -- Lawyers on Tuesday ended their sit-in outside the judges' entrance of the Lahore High Court (LHC) against the conviction of a member of the Punjab Bar Council (PbBC) on the contempt charge.

'We do not want confrontation with the judiciary but we would not compromise on dignity of the lawyers also,' Pakistan Bar Council's member Shafqat Mahmood Chohan said in a press conference at the sit-in.

Mr Chohan was flanked by other senior leaders of Hamid Khan-led Professional Group, including Rana Intizar Hussain who has been declared successful as president of the Lahore Bar Association (LBA) by its election board despite a restraining order issued by the PbBC, the regulatory body of the bars in the province.
