Sindh PMA expresses distrust in central body, seeks fresh election.

HYDERABAD -- A meeting of provincial council of the Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) Sindh chapter held in Nawabshah on Monday dismissed the letters issued by the association's central president Dr Ikram Tunio.

The meeting declared that the Sindh PMA was an autonomous and constitutional body and, as such, the central body could not interfere in its affairs.

'Dr Ikram Tunio, at the behest of some mafia, is trying to divide doctors in Sindh; he is conspiring against doctors' representative body,' the meeting alleged.

It observed that PMA had always been 'misused for personal interests', and regretted that an active Sindh PMA appeared not acceptable to the central body. 'That's why a campaign has been launched against the Sindh PMA,' it alleged.
