Sindh growers protest against import of tomatoes from Iran.

HYDERABAD -- Sindh Abadgar Board representative organization of growers of the province took out a rally and held protest demonstration here against import of tomatoes to Iran despite bumper crop of commodity in Sindh.

The demo was led by SAB general secretary Dr.

Zulfiqar Yousfani, Imran Buzdar, Aslam Mari and Taha Memon.

The participants were chanting slogans demanding ban on imports of tomatoes from Iran and its export be allowed.

Protest was also participated by leaders and workers of various political parties and social organizations.

Addressing the rally and gathering, the grower leaders expressed indignation over government decision to import tomatoes and onions from Iran at a time when both commodities were in abundance in market.

They termed it as exploitation of growers and conspiracy to destroy them economically.

As such they demanded to stop import.
