Sindh Govt vows to kill off the swarms of the locusts: Mr. Rahu.

MITHI -- The Sindh Minister for Agriculture Mohammad Ismail Rahu has said that they were trying their best to kill off the swarms of the locusts both in some areas of Thar and some other parts of the province for past five months. Mr. Rahu along with the team of the experts and officials of his department on Friday arrived in affected areas of Chhachhro taluka of Thar and directed the local officials to expedite their efforts to tackle the issue seriously so that the insects might not pose any serious threats to the crops, grasses and trees which had bloomed after the rainfall.

Speaking to the local journalists in Chhachhro he said he himself took no time to visit the areas as soon as the media reported about the fresh attack by the swarms of the locusts adding he said that due to continuous rains they were finding it little hard to kill off all the insects breeding in the desert district. Mr. Rahu said that they had been fighting with the invading insects for past five months in several of Sindh adding he said that over 24 thousand acres of the land had alone been sprayed in Thar and the process will continue as long as there was the threat of their breeding in the desert district.
