Sindh govt hospitals being equipped, says health minister.

HYDERABAD -- All government hospitals in Sindh are being equipped with different machinery and equipment as the provincial government is committed to providing quality health facilities.

This was stated by Sindh Health Minister Dr Azra Pechuho on Wednesday during a visit to Liaquat University Hospital (LUH) city branch. She went around different wards accompanied by hospital Medical Superintendent (MS) Dr Mubin Ahmed Memon, Sindh Health Services Director General Dr Masood Solangi and LUH administration director Abdul Sattar Jatoi.

The minister also visited the newly established 50-bed intensive care unit (ICU) and talked to patients and inquired after their health. She also went around wards of nephrology and urology, medical ICU and other sections.

The MS informed her that the hospital's paediatric ward would soon start working which would benefit not only Hyderabad, but also 15 other districts. He said the hospital would have modern machinery and pathology equipment for different laboratory tests. He said that patients' numbers were increasing in the hospital daily due to availability of such facilities.

The minister said the Sindh government paid due attention to the health sector and that was why the LUH was given funds of millions of rupees for establishment of operation theatres in the city and Jamshoro branches. She directed the hospital administration to ensure proper medication to patients.
