Sindh govt directs all VCs to appoint proper registrars.

LARKANA -- The Universities and Boards Department, Government of Sindh, Karachi, has directed all Vice Chancellors of 25 public sector universities in the Sindh province to appoint registrars in their respective universities according to the provisions of Sindh Universities and Institutes Laws (Amendment) Act, 2018, under which the Registrar of the university is to be appointed by the Syndicate on recommendations of the Selection Board. A letter, signed by Kamal Ahmad, Section Officer (U), further directed them that process for the appointment of registrar in their respective university may be initiated immediately and after completion of all codal formalities within two months positively for smooth functioning of all universities in Sindh. The copy of the letter has also been sent to the Principal Secretary to the Sindh Chief Minister.

It must be mentioned here that since the establishment of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University (SMBBMU) in Larkana, no regular registrar has been posted and all those who occupied the post were favorite of the ruling class or enjoyed maximum influence. Sources said that actual age of the candidates is 65 years, but in advertisements, the relevant authorities reduced it to 50 years thereby depriving the most competent people of their right to appointment and to pave the way for their own inexperienced hands.
