Shutter-down strike in Samaro against 'corrupt' food inspector.

UMERKOT -- Growers and businessmen observed a shutter-down strike in Samaro town and staged a protest demonstration against registration of FIR against the town chairman on Wednesday.

Majority of bazaars and shopping centres remained closed till afternoon while selected ones throughout the day on a call of the traders of Samaro town.

Banners were displayed in the town, inscribed with slogans 'remove the corrupt food inspector' and 'stop media trial and conspiracies against the chairman of Samaro town'. Growers, elected representatives, traders and others staged the protest demonstration and addressed a press conference at the Samaro Press Club.

Addressing the press conference, Khalid Hussain KK, Naval Rai, Allah Bachayo Bhurgari and UC chairman M. Ishaque Khaskheli said that four days ago food inspector Iftikhar Arain developed a 'concocted' story that he had raided the godown of town chairman Rafique Qaimkhani and impounded one truckload of 1,200 bags of wheat ready for transportation.
