Shopkeepers arrested for profiteering in Lakki.

LAKKI MARWAT -- The local administration on Saturday arrested nine traders in Lakki city for profiteering.

Additional assistant commissioner Najibullah Khan paid surprise visits to different bazaars to check availability of official rate list and daily use commodities. He found nine traders involved in violating official price list.

The traders were arrested and sent behind bars, but were released later on payment of fine.

Mr Najibullah also sealed eight petrol and diesel selling outlets over violation of Covid-19 precautionary measures and selling commodities at high rates.

In Naurang town, additional assistant commissioner Aminullah Khan sealed 10 illegally-run diesel and petrol selling outlets as the operators could not produce relevant documents during surprise inspection visits.

He also checked prices of wheat threshers and directed tractors' owners to implement rates fixed by the district administration.
