Sherpao warns against dragging army officers into Imran attack case.

CHARSADDA -- Qaumi Watan Party chairman Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao has condemned attack on Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chief and former prime minister Imran Khan during long march in Wazirabad.

He demanded transparent investigation into the attack through a commission of Supreme Court as proposed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Talking to journalists in Tangi here on Tuesday, he said the incident should be properly investigated by police and should not be politicised. QWP provincial chief Sikandar Sherpao was also present on the occasion.

Mr Sherpao said that provision of security to participants of long march was the responsibility of Punjab government, led by Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, the coalition partner of PTI. He said that army officers should not be dragged in the case.

He said that PTI leaders should let police to handle the case if they wanted result-oriented investigation. He came hard on PTI workers for blocking road with the help of police and local administration. He asked the federal government to take notice of the acts of PTI workers and initiate measures to stop them from taking law in their hands.
