SANITY bids adieu when tempers run high. Insensitivity and heartlessness were personified when approximately 400 lawyers went wild in their anger and attacked the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) in Lahore, turning it into a battlefield and rendering the patients and their attendants helpless.

Cardiac patients were left with no choice but to leave the health facility in haste to save their lives. The depressing footages showing a swarm of furious and violent lawyers storming the PIC emergency ward was shameful. I wish it were a horrible dream. Unfortunately, it was not so. Even during war, hospitals and safety zones are not bombed or attacked, while the lawyers were seen vandalising the hospital and ransacking its emergency room.
